  1. Cardinal tetras are my latest frustration. They breed no problem, but you think I can keep the little buggers alive?! Also the new Wapoga Red Laser rainbowfish. These are proving to be difficult to keep alive when very small.

I have raised fry in tanks loaded with leaf litter and floating plants that block out almost all light. There may be some validity to the eggs being light sensitive but the microbe colonies on the decaying leaf litter are key to fry survival. They graze on it and it gets them over the hump.

  2. Hello - I'm looking for Apistogramma baenschi, Apistogramma bitaeniata, and Apistogramma sp. black-chin/Schwarzkinn. Do you ever see these on any of your supplier's lists?

    Thanks in advance.

    Jeff

The 1st 2 I see regularly but haven't seen the 3rd type that I can recall. The stock lists change constantly though and I can also ask my suppliers if they can get them.
The 3rd one is more recently known as Apistogramma allpahuayo.
  3. Thanks - good to see another dart frogger on here.

Jiffy peat pellets should work fine. You can get them anywhere now with gardening season getting started. Just cut the casing off after you soak them. You shouldn't need to use the whole pellet. I just picked up 30 pellets for $5 at Superstore.

Someone sells them on aquabid.com. They have always been there when I look.

    Thanks.

I need it for a killie spawning substrate.

  4. Hello, I've been out of the hobby for a while. Used to be big into Killies and Apistos. Recently started a few tanks and picked up a few species of African non-annual killies.

    Great Forum.
