  1. Thanks. What was the size of your tank? I have an external & internal filter & I do water changes every week when I clean the gravel & once a month clean both filters. I've kept fish for 10 years but not had my Datonoid for too long & its my 1st one.
  2. Thanks! Just like humans, some do some don't!!!
  3. 3 foot by 18 inches wide by 2 foot high. I dont want a tank load just 2 but some fish cant be kept in 2s.
  4. Hi, I have one in my brackish tank that's about 3/3.5 inches along with 2 Morey Eels-3 Mono's-Archers, I was thinking of getting another 1 but a different type, is it wise to have just two or is it as with Archers & Mono's 1-3 or more? Would having two cause fighting? Thanks
  5. I have two African Butterfly fish (Pantodon Buchholzi) & 1 Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta Splendens) which contradictory to what some believe do get on together, what I want to know is will the Pantodon’s accept (I suspect they will) pre-packed dead Crickets? I have been feeding them live but just in case I run out of these I would like to know if dead ones will be a good substitute. Any suggestions on any other pre-packed food that will float on top of the water that they will take?
  6. For the 2nd time I got myself a Gobioides broussonetti (Violet Dragon Goby) & again it didn’t last till morning, at 1st I assumed it was one of my two Brackish Toad fish so I traded them in as I’d been thinking about doing that anyway as they were preventing me having so many other fish due the fact they eat so many but as I don’t have them any more yesterday I bought another Violet Dragon Goby & again its not there so I can only assume it’s one or both of my Gymnothorax Tile. The only other fish I have are Mono's/Archer's & 1 small Datonoid Would they do that? There isn’t a body or even part of the Dragon left. Any advice/help? Thanks
  7. I assume so, but realy cant see how it can eat something so long, but that was nothing, i have a Quad' Datonoid in the tank, not a big 1 but I assume too big for either the Stone Fish as its still there, I bought another type of Datonoid that I thought was the same size until the second I put it in the tank & the second I did that 1 of the stone fish positioned itself & it swam right in front of it & was eaten, I had that for about 10 seconds!!! That Dat' cost me £16!!!! I don't spend £10 or £16 on myself for lunch!!!! Surprised it didn't ask for a Wine list!!!
  8. Hi, I finaly managed to get a Violet Dragon Goby at the cost of £10, I had doubts about putting it in my Brackish tank with two Stone fish but when I had a closer look & noticed it was about 6 to 7 inches long I felt sure it would be alright as my Morey Eels are fine & even share a tank with one of the Stone Fish, sometimes both even though they are even longer than the Dragon but when I woke the next day there wasn't any sign of it, I'm assuming its down to the Stone Fish, I'm gutted, I can see they have big mouths but how on earth can they eat something that long? As they have eaten few fish & preventing me getting other types I'm going to have to trade them in, not worth having two of 1 type of fish when I can have Puffers/Chromides, any type of Goby, possibly not Flounders or small Columbian Sharks.
  9. Thanks. I have 3 tanks & this one is a corner bow fronted tank, its 2 foot high & 27 inches from front to back. I know have a Betta which is a lovely Mouve, I will be putting Rams in with it but still not sure if the surface area will be enough, I have moved the internal pump to the bottom of the tank & the inlet pipe from the external pump has been directed so it doesn't disturb the surface area as much.
  10. Hi all, I want to change the 'inmates' to 1 of my aquariums & I was thinking of having Pantodon Buchholzi ( African Butterfly fish-They look more like Grass hoppers!) with Siames Fighting fish (Betta Splendens) as well as Jordanella Floridae (Ameriacan Flagfish) & Ram (Papiliochromis ramirezi)- Glass fish (Chanda Ranga) American Flagfish: I understand these can be a little aggresive but some say brackish & others say fresh water! I have 2 Brackish Tanks & 1 freshwater so if I cant put them in 1 I maybe able to put them in the other. Siamese fighters/Pantondon- will these be ok together? Any help will be greatless received. Thanks.
  11. Hi, I went to Wholesale Tropical in Bethnal Green (London. U.K) & they had one Flounder left, it was a beautifull brick red colour but at £12.50 I wasn't sure although I loved it as I thought it may be under the gravel most of the time & I woulnd't see it so may be a waste of money. I wonder if they will go will Achirus Achirus, a simular but much smaller flat fish. I'm sure they will. I got 3 of the Achirus Achirus.

  13. Thanks. Yeah, I know but as its a flat fish it may be hard to tell. Not seen one yet but a 'place' (sorry) in Bethnal Green (London) has them.
  14. I've got 2 Gruniens (Stone fish) & want a few Flounders but not sure if they will be eaten by the Stone fish.
  15. Hi all, I've just been doing some research as 1 of the shops I go to have got them in, they like live food, grow to around 6 inches & are peacfull. They ARE Brackish. http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f29/freshwater-flounder-submitted-by-poikilotherm-27368.html
