  1. Went to do my rounds this morning feeding checking on the fish ect. and noticed that my 55gal community tank is leaking somewhere on the bottom. Not sure what to do with it I don't have another tank available to put these fish in right now nor do I have the filters to do it. and to top it all off I have to leave tomorrow morning for work and am not going to be around much for the next month. more of a rant than anything but Just wondering it seems to be a fairly slow leak just wondering if I leave it what are the chances that it will just let go if i were to leave it until i get back.
  2. Thanks for the help guys I have started doing 20% water changes daily and just waiting for my new tank to establish properly (probably another couple weeks) then I will be moving a few of these fish to that tank and then will have the room for a couple more mollys either that or find a new home for this molly unsure as of yet
  3. Ya I only have the one molly, I had 2 but the other passed quite a while ago and I never got another one. I know not good since they prefer to be in groups but at the moment I don't have any more room in that tank until my new 70 gal establishes properly. He has never really shown any sign of stress other than what I mentioned and I think in the last 8 months it has happened 3 times and never lasted more 3 days, White spots very noticeable on the first day the second they are already fading quite a bit and by the third they are completely gone. His fins are not contracted or anything after which usually shows stress as far as I have read. Also figure I should mention it doesn't coincide with water changes or anything. Just never thought that ick could come and go that quickly so figured it might be something else.
  4. I am just wondering I have had ick twice before in a different tank and it spread quick and lasted for a a while ended up using one of the ick treatments and it went away. My question is there anything else that can develop like ick or show up and disappear in a matter of a day or 2 reason I ask is in my community tank I have 1 black molly that all of a sudden will have a bad breakout of what looks like ick covering most of its body face and fins, he acts perfectly fine like nothing is wrong. Then within 2 days it is all cleared up none of the other fish ever get it. This has happened about 3-4 times now just seems kind of strange and I can't find anything about it anywhere, It is a very healthy tank water tests regularly never had any sickness in the tank or fish die. Any ideas is it ick or something else?
  5. I have had about 5 of these I love the look of them but as others have said they collect alot of debris and they are very fragile once they get any tear or anything they just start falling apart. I have 2 of these right now both about 3" diameter but I was cleaning my tank yesterday and one started to fall apart very slow growing

    Hi Everyone

New member just figured I would put something up here I started getting into fish about 3 years ago started with my room mates 10gal tank that I ended up taking care of, now upgraded a few times. Right now I have a 40gal tank set up with a few African Cichlids, terrible with remembering species I know i have an electric blue, an albino, and 2 others along with a juvi pleco and a Chinese algae eater also have a 55 gal community tank setup with a sengal bicher (~ 7"), 2 red hook silver dollars (~4"), a pictus catfish (~4), a golden gourami (~4), and 2 other fish I am not too sure about will try and get pics one I am kind of curious about lots of silver in and depending on lighting changes from a dark brown to a very bright red/pink also I have a new addition coming home today a 65 gal with nice cherry wood stand and cap brand new someone bought it for 1000$ never used and I am picking it up for $350 Alot of the reason I thought of joining is I would like to convert all my tanks to planted tanks and had heard that there are many different plants and tips that can be found on the forums compared to in store.
