  1. very nice.... that blue one with the pinkish head looks like he was dipped into some paint halfway or someone came by and erased the blue off his head. Pretty unique looking!

LOL ..I wonder if you'll do this to one of your fish :)

mharding4... are you going to post more pictures so we can see how the color changes in next month?

I could do that.. wouldnt be a bad idea.. see how much they change in twice as long ha :P

  2. I bought a few bettas from Ann Marie and I have noticed in some more than others quite a difference in color change and Id thought Id share it with you. http://s1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh607/mharding4/?action=view&current=BeforeandAfterShimmer.jpg The first 3 pictures of a before and after of about a 2-3 month span or so. Some are a hard comparison because the before picture was not the greatest but you can really see a difference in some! So neat :)

  3. I have about an 8 gallon tank and its got lots of live plants in it. They are growing well but I have this hair algea problem. I have mixed in flourite with the gravel. 13 Watt Flourescent bulb. I have one little albino pleco. There are rainbows and a female guppy and betta in the tank. Any suggestions? Fire them at me. Pictures found here: http://s1254.photobu...ng4/Hair Algea/

  4. So I have pictures of my first spawn of babies. They are now about 3 cms long with little marks on their bodies. I put them in with my smaller rainbows because i now have two more spawns of babies in my 10 gallon. There are probably about 100 new babies though I know that not all will make it. I hope I can find homes for them all :) Its unfortunate that they take forever to be able to sex them. Pictures here on my photobucket. First 4 pictures are newest. http://s1254.photobucket.com/albums/hh607/mharding4/Otopharynx%20Lithobates/

  5. Hey. Ive lost 80% of my stock in my tank in the past 48 hours. I could not see or tell why the fish were dying so fast. The water tested perfect. But I have about 7 fish left and they seem to be somewhat stable other than one. This one has what looks like mouth rot. From my readings I think its a bacterial infection? Anyone know what I can use to save the last of my fish? My betta seems immune. He has not changed and the fish continue to eat.. which i find bizzare... anyway.. any ideas? Do i have to go to Petland to buy an expensive antibiotic for a 7 gallon tank?

  6. When you received them there was a dominant male and a sub dominant one. A third may be a bit too much for a small tank. Not enough real estate.

You could sell a 1m 2 f trio. I would think that could fix up the problem. In a perfect world I would ditch one male, but that can be tough some times. Unless there is someone out there with an all male tank who wants him. But like Sheldon said, maybe start with a powerhead, if nothing else it will circulate water...

Jay, turns out there was 4 males. Now I have three with 4 females i think lol I might get rid of another one. I have a potential person to give him too.

  7. So I ended up distrupting my tank too much today and one of my females spit out her fry. Luckily she spit them out in a bucket! They no longer have eggs sacks and look like little fishies :D I have them in their own 10 gallon right now so hopefully they will make it. I read something about the gestational period for these fish is like 21 days? she has only had them for give or take about 8 days from what I am aware of. A couple other females have eggs too so I will have more fry coming by the looks of it! Here are some pictures!
