Our "taxi cab" cichlids has lately begun to get sunken gill. He is laying on the bottom lots and not eating much. We added salt to the tank and now he is twitching like crazy. Help!

Good point; is the arowana only getting spooked when you are near the tank or generally skittish all the time? Would you be able to list the tank mates that it has? Do you leave a night light on for the fish? All the time and only a pleco at the moment and no we don't have a night light for her anymore, is there any ways toget her comfortable? And she will get used to the traffic upstairs?

What can we get to provide her the space she needs?

It's been about 2 weeks since we moved her and she doesn't seem to be getting any better, we had the water tested and was told everything was great. But she's still super agitated.

Our Arowana is terrified of everything! She went from eating 4 blocks a day to barely one. We have a Pleco who's badly 2 inches long and she won't go near it anymore since we moved her. She tries to jump out of the water and smashes herself into the glass. She now has one black scale on her back as well. Wondering what this is and what we can do for her. Help please!

We're upgrading to a 560 gallon we are aware of the demands of the arowana lol just looking for some company for him.

How long can they go without food? I had my 24" black arowana go 3 months without eating. If yours was healthy when it stopped eating it will be okay for a while. Arowanas have known to go off food for long periods of time for certain reasons. Whoa okay! And here I was panicking after a week!

I put a dimmer light on and she has had a place to hide but here lately when people approach she starts lashing against the glass

100 gallons just for now, would a gar live okay with them? And I was told as she gets older she'll snap and eat whatever she is with?

She's a silver arowana we purchased at Big Al's, she was about an inch long 2 months ago. She was eating the blood worms by the bucket load but since we moved her to a bigger tank she is very finicky.
