  1. A sudden ph drop at night mean excessive co2 are you running skimmer or any form of gas exchange eg high surface water agitation and no dead spots water flow wise along the bottom?
  2. I don't think the ever die LOL,but they will kill each other for shells.make sure you have a good supply laying around.

[/img]The deep sand bed should never be disturbed in order for it to be effective.I run one in my 85 gallon sumpless system along the back 1/3 of the tank behind a rock wall barrier so sand sifters can't access it(4"deep ).The sand I have in the front is only 3/4 to 1 inch thick and gets syphoned regularily,It's just for looks.A deep sand bed is not for growing pods its for creating an anoxic zone for nitrate reduction.
  4. I'd probably do a sun coral tank,since they are non photosynthetic you wont need any kind of special lighting,just what's appealing to your eyes.
  5. I finally got mine to accept small mysis,here's how...Isolate him in a shaded guppy breeder add some coral frenzy to "chum" the water and add mysis.after a week of feeding 5to 10 mysis per day, :thumbs: put him back and target feed every other day.he's super fat and active now
  6. Nice set-up :thumbs: ,any secrets on your coralline algae growth,or just natural?
