I believe if you contact eheim they will send you a new head. I had the same problem and they sent me a new one. Contact them.

New to this site. Been keeping fish for over 25 years. Mainly South American. Recently caught the cory bug but not yet over the pleco flu. Hope to feed my habit on this site.
