Thanks, found the Aquaponics threads now. I searched, but I guess I must have accidentally limited my search to a particular topic. I think you're absolutely right. The amount of fish you can add to this tank won't be supporting the plants in a meaningful way. Well, maybe it'll be a stepping stone for some people.

I ran into this interesting product, the "Home Aquaponics Garden" the other day. It's a recently funded Kickstarter project. http://store.backtotheroots.com/Home_Aquaponics_Garden_p/aquaponics.htm The idea is to add edible plants into the Nitrogen cycle of the aquarium. While the science is sound, I didn't order one because I have my doubts about this particular product working well and keeping the fish healthy. The makers don't strike me as being particularly fish savvy. I'm curious what you guys think of the product. I know that commercial Aquaponics systems exist, but has anyone here tried adding edible plants to their setups at home?
