I dont think thats what it is. It pretty fine but it settles pretty quick.Wyou in the calgary area? And do you know a good place to pick up a R/O system

I have recently noticed spots forming on his head that almost look like cold sores and his tail fin and right pectoral fin are all torn up. The pectoral fin almost looks like its bee partially torn away from the body. I have moved him to a tank on his own. Ne one out there know what might be happening

? Is that the sand?

Thanks for your input guys I really appreciate it. I know the sand is not play sand. It was quite expensive to buy I was told. But Im guessin this could also be the cause of my nitrate and nitrite spikes to.

Thanks. Bout two weeks ago I noticed one of my female rainbows had vanished with out a trace. Then my jewel cichlid had a wound on his face. Since then I have been feeding him lots and I keep small feeders in there as well. I am looking to up size my tank at the moment

The drop was around the time of a change. I have sand instead of rock, there is a couple of rocks in it. Drift wood a decorative ship. For fish I have a gourami blushing angel. Male and female rainbow pelco, peacock gar rope fish and a sting ray. I do believe there were shells in the sand. Water change twice a week 25%

Yes I do have the manual. For the conductivity it said to check out the website. Basically it explains what it is and how it s measured. Right now its at 1338. The chart showed adrop to 1150 then a spike back to where it is now.
