  1. Many severum males (except for some of those weird line-bred types) have squiggles over their faces and gill plates. A clear face is likely female. Some people say that you can tell by face shape (females have pointier faces), but they all look about the same to me. I find older males are much wider in the chest.

  2. Hi folks,

    New to the site, not to the hobby. Currently trying to breed Crenicichla compressiceps (been 2 years, can't get any pairings going. about to give up). Also have a severum pair (wild caught rotkeils) with some bristlenoses and a rotating stock of dithers.
