So the girlfriend picked up a Eheim pro 3 while she was in Edmonton , got it at big Al's I think and the guy said it was good for a 120 gallon . Would this be a good filter for a planted tank? After seeing the leaky Rheim post I'm unsure .

So the last time my girlfriend and I started the 90 gallon we had a alot of different fish and most were picked by me , this time the misses wants to do a discus planted tank. I am all for it but I wanna find something else that can live happily with the discus , I am a huge fan of loaches , the last tank had 7 clown loaches and 2 yoyo's , and a huge red tail shark. I had one leopard and he lived for a couple years and this time I want more. Can they live happily along with some Cory's and loaches ?

Names Les and live up in Fort Mcmurray , I love animals of all types and have had fresh water tanks since I was 10 years old , currently we have 2 lizards ( veiled chameleon , and a northern Australian blue tongued skink ) , a cat and a dog. That's all well and good but there is something missing , and this time I want to go big and do a 90 or bigger planted tank with discus or leaf fish . Some of my fav fish, loaches of all types , red tail sharks , angel fish , rainbows , rams , royal Pleco, I have bred bristle noses , and Angels, not by choice lol , I hope to gain a bit more knowledge in big planted tanks and I have a couple of months to do so . I have lots of questions about larger planted tanks so pls bare with me , I had a 20 gallon planted once and it was awesome , want to go big this time
