I'm in Calgary, looking for a Canadian source. The reason why I'm asking is because when I call around to the gardening supply places it's sold in 20 pound bags! A lifetime supply for 100 aquarists! Thanks for the suggestion of Canadian Aquatics. I'm checking them out now.

I'm trying to source out chemicals to mix up dosing solutions for EI dosing. Need to mix up KNO3, KH2PO4, and GH booster. Can anybody advise me on where to get the raw chemicals and how to mix them up for EI dosing?

Hello! I got out of the aquarium hobby back in 2008 and those who were active on the canreef forum may have known me as kwirky. I'm considering getting back in the hobby, possibly with a low tech planted aquarium. I'm a fan of sustainable approaches to the aquarium hobby with a sensitivity for environmentalism and animal ethics. I worked in the industry for a while so if anybody has questions let me know. I currently don't have an aquarium but my wife and i are planning to buy a house soon so I've been lurking forums, updating myself of new knowledge in preparation an aquarium when we get our place. My experience is primarily I'm saltwater reef aquariums but I operated a high tech, heavily planted aquarium for a little while, too. And I've looked after all sorts of livestock.
