  1. ok....saw the other part of your note.....the others are fine so far.....I do weekly water changes.....not to the extreme of you...... I appreciate the feedback
  2. Excuse me? why so critical? what's the problem? I'd appreciate something constructive.....why would I continually kill discus with my setup?
  3. Oh ya....good luck with the lights.....I've always wondered if I need more lighting for my 120G
  4. Thanks for the info....what brand of reactor do you use?...I purchased one but it's a cheap chinese knockoff.....keet crapping out....I remember having to deal with the dreaded dead spots with my reef....With the discus and the temp, I'm limited I think....had great glosso growth before I turned the temp up. I'm running two fluval led strips....likey not the best....notice my leaves are fully closer to the surface. I'm yrying the aquarium fertilizer.com's MacroMicro Nutrient Mix Not the best pic but you get the idea....
  5. He has actually gained some colour back....not so black.....plus he actually came out...sorry for the quality of the pics....you'd think these tablets would take better pics
  6. not sure why the pictures are upside down....d'oh

  9. Hello all, I'm looking forward to using this forum. It's nice to be back in the hobby after a small break. Freshwater planted with Discus.... previously saltwater reef and before that... large cichlids Sorry for the poor quality picks....I blame Bill Gates and his terrible Surface tablet. I'm interested in some new plants to compliment the discus (at least ones that can take the heat) as well as discus and other South American cichlids Thanks Tony from SE Calgary
  10. Wow.... beautiful tank....a few questions. What do you dose with in terms of fertilizer? Aquarium temp? PH? How do you inject your CO2? Ceramic diffuser placed low? Thanks..... I'm still tinkering with placement... discus temp has also limited what will grow..... it's a trade off
  11. One ooh my eight discus has lost a great deal of colour, is lethargic and I notice he's lost a small portion of his upper fin towards the back.... any ideas? Should I just do water changes or get him into a separate Q tank? He has gained some colour back and isn't hiding in the plants as much thanks
  12. I'm looking for some suggestions for some plants that are suitable for higher temps....82F plus.... running discus....glosso was doing well till I cranked the temp for the discus. Thanks,
