  1. Any Help?????????????????????????????
  2. Well I just got back from Regina tonite with my new tank; 75 gallon. It will be replacing my 20g and 10g. The fish that will be going in are; 1-Pleco (Common) 1-Weatherloach 1-Peppered Cory 1-Bronze Cory 1-German Blue ram Cichlid 2-Firemouth Cichlid 1-Fairy Cichlid (Lyretail) 1-Blue Acara Cichlid 2-Angels Any Ideas for additions? Removals? How many fish can the 75 hold? Thanx
  3. I've been pricing, WOW!!! In Saskatchewan these tanks are not cheap (Over $400.00) I Can build one for less than 1/2. And finding used?....Forget about it.
  4. O.k. I think I have decided on a size (46 1/2"w x 18"d x 16"h) =58 g And I've figured out the construction method I'm going to use. (1/4" glass,Frameless,etc.)- glass seems thin but that's what all the sites say. Can't afford thicker anyways But I'm not quite sure how to go about with the top bracing, Has anyone built a tank on this forum? Can you post some pictures of your top bracing? Thank you so much
  5. Ya, One on each side of the tank at the back. I do have extensions on the inlet tubes, so they are about 2" off the bottom. I have sort of a "rolling" motion of the water.
  6. I got a Electric Blue Ahli, Doing fine. The current is O.K. For everything except for the Angels...But they can handle it. (I'm answering my own Posts....)
  7. I know the rest of the water is filtering, it just drives me nuts. Don't worry about it I just changed some media around and it works perfectly.
  8. Oh Ya, Would a Peacock or Blue Acara Get along in this Tank?
  9. Hi There, Just checking if I have too much current going on in my tank or do they like it this way? 20 gallon (Upgrading soon to 55-60) Filters; 1- Aquaclear 70 1- Aquatech 20-40 Fish; 1 Firemouth 1 kreb 1 Fairy 1 Blue Ram 1 Pleco 1 Loach 2 Angel 2 Cory Cats Thanx
  10. O.K. I tryed a temp block of the bypass hole but it didn't work because there is a slit around the intake tube base that also allows bypass. I took out one of the media (Carbon) and using just the Filter,Carb-Ammorid combo, and bio balls it doesn't bypass. Maybe you can only use the three? I always thought with these units you could use more media, Guess not.
  11. Boy, I'll be using you guys(and Gals) alot. Thanx for all the previous help. Now, I just bought an Aquaclear 70 Power filter and set it up. Is there any way to stop it from bypassing? There is some water coming out the intake tube mount. Media is all new. I put in; Foam,Carbon,Carbon-ammorid mix,Bioballs. I even removed one of the Carbons, and it still wants to bypass like there is to much resistance thru the media even though there shouldn't be. Can I plug the bypass hole beside the Impeller?(Just a thought). Or is all this normal? Years ago I had a AC mini and it only bypassed when the media was dirty.
  12. Hi There, Me again. I went to the Garf site on building a tank, a very slick site. Thanx I do have a couple of questions though; - Wouldn't it be better to have the bottom of the tank flat instead of raising it 1/4" with the dowels?(That's alot of weight to be supported just by the sides and silicone) -How would you attach the top braces? With the ones that are described? Or could you just make 3- 16"x2, and place them 2 on ends and one in the middle? (Tank size 48x16x16) Thanx again :w00t:
