  1. I did a test today before doing a 15% water change Ammonium was 0, Nitirte was 0 and Nitrate was 10-20, The pH was around 7.6, my community tank consists of some angels, gouramis and red lined torpedo barbs. I know that most of these species prefer a more neutral pH of around 6.8-7.2, should I worry if it is a little high? I am going to do another test tomorrow to see if it changed after the water change. I will also check my tapwater.

  2. I have both pearl and golden in my tank, however, my tank is a 75 gallon. In my experience I find that the golden gouramis are more aggressive than the pearls. I would suggest going with a pair of pearl gouramis rather than the goldens. Dwarf gouramis like the powder blue, honey or flame may also be a good choice. Hope this helps.

  3. I have had a few issues with ich as well but because I have some "scaless" fish eclipse/sun catfish and clown pleco I never used salt to treat ich. What I found that worked best was bumping the temp. of the tank to 86 deg. or so for 10 days. The increase in temp. helps speed up the cycle and hopefully stops the reproduction of the parasite in your tank. I also did 25% water changes every second day. Hope this helps.

  4. Fairly new to hobby, find it quite relaxing. Recently upgraded from 30g to 75g planted. I am learning so much from this forum and others like it and look forward to possibly starting another project.
