  1. Thanks It's about 40km east of Calgary on the Trans-Canada Vic
  2. Just thought I'd say hello and introduce myself I'm Vic and I used to hail from Edmonton. I've had tanks for years. Started off with a 5gal with guppies as a kid and had a 10gal with neon tetras for ever. Before coming to Strathmore, I was in Montreal. I had a 20/25gal tank there with Convicts among other fishes. My breeding pair decided that they would have their first brood about 2 weeks before I moved. I thought that all the eggs were kapput when I started to dismantle the tank. That's when I noticed some odd looking dirt in the pipe coming up from the undergravel filter. The little rascals had survived and were living in the filter cavity! They ended up with a neighbour Now I have two tanks, a 40gal Cichlid-Community tank and a 30gal planted tank. I'll likely set up at least 1-2 more smaller tanks over the next while for broods and quarantine. The 40gal has Electric-Blue Haps, Ruby-Reds, Yellow Labs, Red Parrots plus an assortment of Ballas, Red-Tailed Black Sharks, Tinfoils, SilverDollars, Clown Loaches and Pete the White Spotted Pleco. The 30gal has Dwarf Neon Rainbows, Pearl Gourami's, Serpae Tetras, Golden Killifish - these guys are real characters ... they nip me every time I do any maintanance - Burmese Loaches and Red Flower Shrimp + about 8-10 different varieties of plants. I've got a few pics of the tanks on my web site http://members.shaw.ca/vichoule/ Anyhow ... gotta go and see if my CO2 generator is percolating yet, Vic
  3. Have you considered any Rainbows? I have a half-dozen Dwarf Neons (Melanotaenia praecox) in my 30gal planted tank. They're not overly colorful, but they don't seem to lack character. Some of the others Boesmani (sp?) seem to be very colorful.
