  1. Rams are awesome,id recommend bolivian rams bigger and not as picky with water. But less colour. Rummy nose tetra are awesome schooler.
  2. Im planning on upgrading my planted tank lighting. I believe my tank is 48" long Is there a better place to buy them? Sales? Which brand is best or to avoid? My preferance is a led light as its more effcient and also i want the night light as it will add cool ambiance to a gloomy space.
  3. My stock 2 three spot gourmis 20ish neon tetra/cardinals 2 bolivian rams 5 zebra loach 3 bosemani, will be 6-8 soon ferroella cat bn pleco 5 kulli loach will not restock 2 cory will not restock i am thinking of adding a L pleco, and maybe a few peaceful type cichlid.... About every 7-10 days i change 40-60% of water change nitrates at 5ppm.... havent checked nirites or ammonia in a while... i was under impression that once tank is cycled this was less necessary... Cant say im concerned with flow.... i just want more fish and wasnt sure if current cannister is cutting it. There is waste on bottom i just assumed more vacuuming. I find sand much harder to clean than the gravel i had in old tank. Pisces has fx6 for $220, and figured be nice to have a excellent filter. Isnt fx5 for 100 gallon? Ckmullen plants are doing well... cant wait til next water change so i can place them better. Thanks again.
  4. I currently have a planted community 120 gallon tank with a ehiem 2217 around 250 gallon a hr.... i am thinking of getting fx6 but not sure if i should.... ive been running this set up for two years and have had minimal fish loss.... do i really need more than two water exchanes an hour? Is the fx6 a good filter? What gains would i see with fx6. Does more flow even mean better filtration? I need some assistance as i got the bug to buy,not sure if should......
  5. I was referring to liquid co2 as carbon. I also run a carbon pad in cannister filter. Should i not be using carbon pad? Would removing help the plants but require more water changes?
  6. For lighting i have crap fixture with floramax bulb single use root tabs, carbon and excel. im kinda on limited budget (1yr old and another in sept) I really wanna upgrade filtration first. Also its a tall tank so i bet that hinders growth as well. Gonna keep my eyes out for used lighting. whats should i get?
  7. I have val, amazon swords and in process of getting more plants. However 2years later my plants are more or less stagnant. I have a basic plant bulb, use carbon, excel and root tabs. What could i do to throw these plants into hyper drive?
