  1. Hi, I have a pair of Kirbs that had fry at Christmas they were great parents and hardly bothered the other residents at all (Zebra Danios) and now 6 months in I have 7 rather large babies which have been great on the population control for their younger siblings but like all older children it's time for them to move out. No aggression issues just I feel that it's better to get them out before problems show up. I've never sold/given away free any fish before and strangely I find myself concerned that they have a nice new home to go to more than getting cash for them. So what are the best ways to re-home fish?
  2. Any reccomendations on plants that woudl have a similar look to the Val? Ideally some real fast growers.
  3. Is it possible for the Vals to recover from the excel exposure? They currently have a number of transparent leaves but there are still quite a few healthy looking leaves. and nothing on the young runners seem to have been affected. or should I just pull them and put some new ones in.
  4. Hi, im looking to add a pair of kribs to my 29L tank. I would prefer to puchase locally (Calgary) if possible since ive heard that winter shipping is sometimes chancy. Does anyone have recommendations on where I could find them?
  5. we originally had plastic plants but we took them out and put in some ricci, flame moss and some xmas moss. the guppies are way happier. And they really keep down the maintenance and help stabilize the water params in the small tank.
  6. My kids wanted a fish for a pet. They finally wore me down and got the usual starter guppy this summer and I haven't looked back. I find it so rewarding to keep our fishy friends happy and healthy and it turns out to be surprisingly relaxing to care for them. Also a great educational project for them. Very excited to find a relatively local forum.
