  1. Hello all, I recieved a 1" female dwarf puffer with a batch of other fish from a tank rescue 2 weeks ago. I have seen her eat one frozen brine shrimp in that time. I've tried cooked bloodworms, live napulii, frozen brine shrimp and frozen small clams. She thinned down a bit at first but is back to her normal roundness. Any advice? I was told she was an aggressive eater by her former owner. TIA
  2. Hello all. I've had my 120 g set up for 10 days with around 33 inches of fish in it. Running an fx6 with seachem ultra seeded with filter media from the tank the fish came from. No substrate yet. Got my test kit yesterday and initial readings were: Ammonia: .50-1.0 ppm Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 10 pH: 8.0 Another set of tests today: Ammonia: .5 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 160 pH: 7.8 I can see something is happening; not sure how to interpret these results. I added the initial and second dosing of Stability over the past 2 days. Ammonia readings have never been more than 1.5 or so and the 1.0 is what my tap water (edmonton) reads after using prime. I'll do a 50% water change right away them maybe another this evening to get the nitrates down. Any learned advice? Thank you, Kevin
  3. I accepted a group of fish which were going to be discarded. Dwarf puffer, lemon tetras, platies, a yoyo loach and 2 enormous (to me) plecos. I don't care for plecos but had to take the lot or none. At 11-12", these critters are too destructive (and large) to keep in my one tank (120 extra tall). At night I can hear when they chase each other as they bang ornaments into the glass and destroy plants like a tornado. Free to a good home!
