If you have a 55 gal I would recommend getting a tank divider and splitting them up. This will keep the aggression down and both pairs will go about their own merry ways.

I've had all sorts of colours of angels from pure white ones, to black ones to marbled and I've never noticed one being more hardy than another. They do like soft water though so if you live in an area with hard water you'll need to condition your water or use rain water for water changes.
