  1. RD- Just wondered what you thought of OSI Spirulina Pellets:42% Protein, 4% fat. Contains Fish Meal, Wheat Flour, Spirulina, Shrimp Meal, Fish Protein Concentrate, Fish Oil, Lecithin, Vitamin A Palmitate, DL-รก-Tocopherol Acetate, D-Activated Animal Sterol, Thiamine Mononitrate, Choline Chloride, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate, Calcium d-Pantothenate, Inositol, Niacinamide, Riboflavin Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Folic Acid, Menadione Sodium Bisulfate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 supplement, Ethoxyquin (as an antioxidant).

Think that is too much protein?

  2. I've been feeding my Blue Dolphins, C azureus, and Yellow labs NLS since spring (I know these are not herbivores). I like the results but believing even non herbivores need their greens I feed them OSI (Ocean Star Internatuional) Spirulina Pellet food. Major ingredients: Fish Meal, Wheat Flour, Spirulina, Shrimp Meal - 41% protein, 4% fat. I usually feed them that in the morning when they are hungriest. Mostly they are fed New Life Spectrum.

  3. I am thinking about getting a 6 foot tank (likely around 135 gallons). I'd probably buy one used with some accessories but I'm wondering what the best price would be for new in the Calgary area for tank and glass top, just to give me an idea for comparison purposes. Or if the price is really good, I may buy one new. I don't buy new too often as I find that used can be had for about one- third the price.

  4. I found Malawi cichlids in their natural habitat 2nd Edition by Ad Konings as well as Back to Nature Guide Malawi Cichlids. Both are available here in town and I took a peek at them.

Is one of these two books better than the other? The Back to Nature seems to be based more on fish you'd find in a store. Is that accurate? It is also cheaper although smaller too. I'm kind of leaning towards that one but could buy the other (Malawi cichlids in their natural habitat) if it is of better value. I can't afford both right now.
