  1. 250,000 rainbow trout with ich at a Idaho hatchery. Yahoo link
  2. Here are a few pics from my visit to SeaWorld Orlando last week. Sadly these are the best of the bunch but I am getting better with my camera. I think the best picture is the lionfish. Gallery Mike
  3. I don't live in Calgary but I could not find any when I did a search about 6 months ago. I know I could get it from Toronto but nothing more local. Hopefully someone else has a better idea.

Can you get GE 1200 at the big box stores? I checked my HD and came up empty.
  5. I have an extra 20 gal tall 24x12x16 lying around and want to get it started. This is what I want to stock after cycling. 1 - Angel 6 - Cherry barbs I hope this will work but most everything I have read says 20g is probably not enough for an angel. The only reason I am asking is because 15 yrs. ago when I knew nothing about fish I had an angel and three neons in the tank and it worked really well. I do have other stocking plans if the majority says forget it but I really want the angel and 20g is my limit for the time being. Thanks for the opinions. Mike
  6. I am planning on buying a 10 gal (non planted) fairly soon. I have a 20 gal running and want to try and convert it to a low light planted tank. The 20 has standard hood with 15 watt NO bulb. Here is what I want to try: buy the 10 gal with an incandescent hood, replace the bulbs with cf bulbs that equal 40-50 watts incandescent. Then either swap the light housings or gut each housing and switch ballasts and lights. The end result would be 2-2.5 wpg in the 20g and the 10g has more than enough light for what I need. Any thoughts, ideas, criticisms? Thanks, Mike
  7. Really nice pictures. It is sad that I have been in the Hat for 9 yrs and have not been to Cypress yet someone from waay up in Edmonton has.
  8. Got very lucky yesterday morning. The lights on my tank came on while I was working on the computer and I caught something out of the corner of my eye, my tank had sprung a leak. Panic set in but luckily I found a 18 gal. rubbermaid bucket and quickly emptied the water and moved the fish over. My filter actually fits on the bucket so the fish should be okay for awhile. I was just going to patch up the hole but now I am considering just getting a new tank and then re-silicone all of the old tank. It is at least 15 years old so I bet that if there is one leak more are on the way. Things could have been a lot worse.

    Hello

Hi all. Thought I would introduce myself. I live in Medicine Hat and am currently running just a 20 gal. with tetras (pristella, neon & black phantom) and some ghost shrimp. I freely admit having a bad case of MTS. I would like either a 10 or 20 gal plus a bigger tank 55-77 gal. I am curious about using real plants but am not ready to do custom lighting and CO2. I think I will try some java fern & moss just to see if my stock lights will work and if that will peak my curiosity.
