African_Fever
What exactly do you use this system for? Aquatic plants?

AndyL
It's used in conjunction with a humidity barrier (and lighting - natural or artificial) to grow emersed plants... Basically aquatic plants grown out of water. There's a variety of ways to do it - this is my prefered method. Unless you're worried about propagation (ie commercial sales) it's not really a hobbiest thing. Most of the hobbiests looking to propagate a few extra plants will go with a stagnant water setup (10g tank with just enough water to cover the substrate - tight fitting hood to ensure humidity).
