Cycling tank - Fish addition

My ultimate plans are for an all male peacock tank (45gal), that being said, i'm at the fish addition stage and I am wondering what quantity I should start with?

This particular tank is a work tank, so the initial fish do not neccessarily need to be peacocks, as I have an open 45gal and or 90gal at home as well. Any suggestions or should I just get the peacocks and ride the storm?

How are you cycling the tank? If you are fishless cycling you can pretty much add most of the fish at once. But if you are cycling with fish you should only add a couple at a time. This can be tricky as the first fish will claim a territory and other fish you add might get picked on unless you rearrage the tank. So if you are cycling with fish you should add the least aggressive peacocks first to let them get settled before adding the more aggressive species.

Also are you planning on adding juvies or adults?
