firestorm
I have these 2 plants I am unsure the name of. The top one is of what I think is Dwarf Bonsai, and the other is a Hygrophila corymbosa 'Siamensis'. Can any of you help me properly identify them? werner
The top one is does look like Ammania sp. 'bonsai'. It will need lots of light to develop the pretty red stems. You're right about the second too.
jbot
What are we looking at in the top one? The plant in the centre looks like Rotala indica. You are right about the Hygro.
firestorm
Yes it is the plant in the middle. I was looking at the indica, but it looks slightly different from that kind. It looks kinda ragged because I used to have it in lower lights where it was not doing well. Now that I put a temp fixture with 108 Watts of light on the tank, it seems to be growing much better and I am hoping it will fill back out. And somebody likes to eat my hygro as you can tell lol. I used to always use plant geek to ID my plants, but was very disappointed this time that I could not find these 2 on there. Instead I went to planted tank forum and looked at the profiles on there. werner
The plant in the centre looks like Rotala indica. There has been some speculation out there that the plant introduced as Ammania sp. 'bonsai' is actually Rotala indica... firestorm
Oh ok, so it could be one or the other. I was reading that on one of the sites I was on.
