fish_geek
Hi, I have no experience with live plants in an aquarium which will be obvious with my question. Is there any freshwater plant that can survive (thrive?) in a tank that only has the room lighting? In the basement?
Kayen
Possibly java ferns/moss. But it may not work .
Oneiroid
Pretty much all moss types will grow with some degree of lighting. More light = moss grows faster. Less light = moss grows slower. I've also experienced this with najas grass.
condor
vals are great for starter tanks, they are very hearty, dont require a ton of light. Java moss is another great low light plant, it does not require much help at all and grows very fast, Java fern as previously stated is a great slow growing plant, attach to driftwood and it grows great. Rotala Sp Green does not require a huge amount of light, the more light it has the faster it grows.
