  1. Hi, looking for some genuine Trimac, and/or Barred Midas.
  2. I'm wondering if anyone here uses the house brand water conditioner from Aquagiant and if so have they had any issues? The price certainly is attractive.
  3. What should someone expect to resonably pay for a colony of tropheus? I realize there are many varieties so a range is all i'm looking for.
  4. They were at Big Al's when I was there two weeks ago. I can't remember the details as to there lines and stripes sorry. But they were labelled as Ocellaris.
  5. Actually after running it for awhile without substrate I missed it and ended up adding some. For years I have purchased granite "chicken grit" from the UFA for aquarium substrate. It only costs about $10.00 for 50 Lbs and works great.
  6. Does anyone know of a good source of driftwood that is less expensive than the lfs? Anyone ever use something they found outside?
  7. Hi, I have no experience with live plants in an aquarium which will be obvious with my question. Is there any freshwater plant that can survive (thrive?) in a tank that only has the room lighting? In the basement?
  8. I guess my major concern was if they are a realistic occupant of an aquarium at all, but it sounds like it can be done in a large system. How are they with other aggressive fish of the same size?
  9. My apologies, I should have specified "Peacock Bass" Cichlid, not the African Peacock.
  10. Saw some peacock cichlids in the lfs the other day. When I last had a freshwater tank these fish were not available. Does anyone have any experience keeping this cichlid?
  11. I've had all within the last six months, and either sold them or moved one. I have a Dovii, 3 Umbees right now, and just lost my Hait a while back. I also have a 12 F0 Trimac my buddy has. If you want I can hook you up. I would definitely be interested in the Trimac and or a male umbie (if available). I am a couple of weeks away from being set up but once ready I would like to follow up. I'll have some more Umbee for sale in a month, I can get Trimacs too, I order them from Van. or Florida. What will you be asking for your umbies? How big will they be?
  12. Thats the one. Too bad, it was an interesting place, good prices.
  13. Does anyone know kind of cichlid that is pictured in the afishionado's add on this site?
  14. Years ago when I last had a freshwater tank there was a fish store on the West end of Edmonton called the "Aquatic Research Facility" at least I think that is what it was called. Is it still around ?
  15. I'm setting up an old 100 gallon tank in my basement and am considering covering the bottom in medium sized pieces of slate, and skipping gravel or sand altogether. Does anyone anticipate any issues with not using a substrate?
