Blue Ram
Anyone keeping these fish? They are relatively new to the hobby, are wild caught, stunning, expensive, etc. Spencer Jack has some available - no price yet - seriously thinking of getting some. I'm concerned about the apparent aggression between males. Profiles of this fish say to keep either 1 male or many. Anyone have any experiences. Do you think they would be safe with shrimp for a short time?
thegrandpoohbah
I kept a school of 12 when I was in Vancouver. I found them to be reasonably hardy once acclimated (they were wild caught). They were peaceful as far as I could tell and didn't take long to wean them onto flake food from frozen BBS. As far as I could tell I had all males. Here's a couple of bad pictures which, sadly, do them no justice. They were much more beautiful than these pics can convey.

corrosionjerry
I had these when I was raising apistos.... they were very peaceful and made the apistos feel safe so they didnt hide all the time. there are two or three varieties / that picture looks like the three lined version. Parachromis1
I had these things like 3 or 4 years ago, nice fish
syno321
When I had my group the males demonstrated relentless aggression with each other. Subordinate males always had torn fins and were invariably trying to find places of refuge from the constant harassment.
