werner
So I was doing a water change today... I refill the tank from a garbage can of water using a Rio 1700 pump and hose. I was holding the end of the hose in the water and felt it jerk. I just ignored it and kept filling. About 20 seconds later, one of my congo tetras comes shooting out the end! I guess he decided that he wanted to be a salmon and swam up the hose. Against the current. The inside diameter of the hose is only about as big as he is. The pump is was probably moving about 250-300 gal/hour. He's a little scuffed up around the dorsal fin, but none the worse for wear.

Fishful Thinking
I've had fish sucked up when I was taking water out of the tank, but never while I was filling it! Amazing that he made it out alive.
