Palmer
Hi Everyone, I had picked up three of these cichlids from Golds to add to my african tank. They looked like africans to me but were with some New World Cichlids. I was told they were africans or could go with africans so I picked them up. When looking through the species databases I cannot find anything that exactly resembles them. Anyone have any ideas? Sorry I am not the best aquarium photographer! thanks! rayfong
Hard to tell with those pictures but could be Fossochromis rostratus.
Palmer
Thanks, in looking at pics of Fossochromis R. I think you are right. They said at golds that they turn purple when the mature. It seems like Fossochromis can do that as well. Looks like they will be the biggest fish in the tank!
