:w00t: hi, hope i have this in the right place, as I'm new to the site. Let me know if I'm doing something wrong

is there a LFS in Edmonton area that sell Buffalo Head Cichlids (Steatocranus sasuarius)

I have a 75 gallon to fill, and would like to breed them if possible and have some questions,

I will be attaching it to 2 other 75 gallons, that would be for some thing else not sure what yet?

I have a ratty 100gallon to use as a filter, is it better to make a Refugium with plants or a wet & dry? OR is there some thing better? I much rather have the best filter to give the best quality of life.

Also i need some rock for decor any info you could throw my way would be appreciated

thanks

what do you mean by Attaching it to 2 other 75 gallons? your having all 3 75 gallon tanks drain into the 100 gallon "sump"? if that is the case how will you keep all 3 water levels even without overfilling one and underfilling the others? as for the wetdry/refugium i have seen most people put dividers in the sump and have 3 parts one refugium one full of scrunchies and other full of filtercloth (check the DIY section)

as for getting in buffaloheads if you are coming to edmonton on friday i believe henry at natures corner is doing another great spencer jack order and spencer has buffalo heads among many other great fish on his list

i would be using 3 tanks with over flows (so i could pump each tank separately)which would syphon in to the 100 gallon sump, but i have to finish the basement first,so I'll have time to do some home work ,right know I'm getting ready to set up a basic 75 gallon upstairs so i don't know if the tank wouldn't be ready by the weekend but I'll be there in two weeks I'll check out natures corner while I'm there

thanks for the info
