letsgofishn
Not sure, but in my 300 gallon looks like I might have some small white worms or some sort of parasites. I can see them floating in the calm water or on the glass where there is little current. All fish seems normal, have not introduces any new fish, frequent bi-weekly water changes. Only feeding shrimp. Home for Clown loaches, fronts and Aro. When looking at the glass, it looks like the little white thing is actually moving. Is there a test for this, or should I just treat it with something, maybe up the WC? Temp is 83 already. letsgofishn
Hydra? http://aquaworld.netfirms.com/Predators/hydra.htm Hey thanks for the response, but I don't think it's Hydra. No new addition and I don't feed live food to the guys! Thanks anyways!
RD.
Most likely planaria - they feed on organic matter & excessive nutrients (like tiny particles of shrimp that the fish miss), but overall are harmless. Personally I'd be far more concerened about feeding shrimp as the only source of nutrition to your fish. You might want to read this. http://albertaaquatica.com/index.php?showtopic=23186 and this: FEEDING CAPTIVE PISCIVOROUS ANIMALS: NUTRITIONAL ASPECTS OF FISH AS FOOD http://www.nagonline.net/Technical%20Paper...002MODIFIED.pdf Make sure to scroll down to the bottom, past the bibliography. Some good info on nutrient levels in various fish, mulluscs, shrimp, etc. HTH Edited November 18, 2009 by RD.
letsgofishn
Thanks Neil, sorry I should mention I do feed NLS as well and try and stuff NLS into shrimp. Not as frequent as I should.
RD.
No problem Wayne, I was just concerned about a potential B1 deficiency if the only thing your fish were fed was shrimp.
