Shai Posted January 29, 2010 Report Share Posted January 29, 2010 I took about a liter of water from my 5 gallon to add some bacteria to the new tank, but that should only be a drop in the bucket to a 29 gallon. Kinda late in the thread, but I wanted to comment on this since it seems no one else did. Bacteria grows on surfaces. There is little to none free-floating in the water column, so taking water from one tank and adding it to another for this purpose is rather useless.
