FishyFishy!
I'm sure my yellow box fish has ick. Can anyone confirm (I heard velvet was similar looking). Anyone know if I put him in quarantine... will it spread to other members of the tank? They all seem good at the moment. Any cures that people have used that are better than others? This is salt water for anyone who needed clarification. lol
JLake
I dont think its velvet. The best test for velvet it to shine a flashlight at your fish when the room is dark. The velvets orangey rusty specks will be illuminated by the flash light.
Murminator
Quarantine 1st not for the risk of spreading for the risk of dying and nuking the whole tank....When they die they release toxins..... Mix some food in garlic I wouldn't copper yet see if the spots spread not all white spots are ick could be a little stressed if he is new to the tank. If they spread/grow start some copper treatments.
FishyFishy!
They have spread, but only on his body, not to other tank members? I'll still quarantine him.
