JLake
I am very interested in addind one to my 180 gallon. Anybody have any advice? I hear the 9 watts are too small to be really effective, Is this true? What kinds do people own on AA?
Vitaminz
I have a 9 Watt UV filter from Aquagiant the JUP-01, filters about 800 liters per hour. I first bought it when I had a huge outbreak of green algea and it took care of the problem and haven't had an issue since. My tank is 120 gallon. nautilus
Just as an aside. Used one but found that my plants did not do well at all. Apparently UV screws up some of the necessary stuff needed for plant growth. Great when I has an ich outbreak (don't ask :-)) and shortened the time for recovery but wouldn't advise using it full time if you have a planted aquarium. But may have just been my plants too! cale262
I have a big (about the size of an FX5) Laguna 20w UV canister filter I'll let go cheap, I used it for 1 month and it's been sitting ever since...I was using it inline with an FX5. http://www.lagunaponds.com/lagunaeng/filters/pfilters1504.php?link=1533
