Vallisneria
I used to use one of those and I just fulled the sugar to the line at the bottom, filled with water, then added about 1/4 tsp of yeast and I didn't use baking soda. ubr0ke
don't use bakers yeast use champagne yeast..champagne yeast is tolerant of the highest alcohol levels and can produce as much as double what bakers yeast produces and at a lot more consistent rate. Vallisneria
Personally I've used both brewer's yeast and baking yeast for a long time, on many different bottles and I never noticed much difference in the length the bottles lasted. Yes the brewer's yeast lasted a little bit more. I averaged only a few days extra when I used the brewers yeast. In IMO/E I dont' think its worth the extra cost of the brewer's yeast. When comparing the 2 yeast I never noticed a difference in the production rate(the bubble rate the bottle produced). Both had pretty much the same bubble count. The only difference was that the bottles last a few days longer. Anyone else have experience testing the 2 kinds of yeasts? I had hoped for better results as I'd seen it mentioned many times that brewers yeast was better for co2 but didn't experience much of a difference.
