kimmi7
So i am wondering where in edmonton is the best place to get a smaller size piece of glass that can handle the heat of 2 T5HO bulbs? I had gotten a piece from a lfs and it wasnt good enough to handle the heat, as i found part inside the tank today. So now on the hunt again. please let me know
Jayba
If you raise the fixture off the glass a bit it will be way easier on the glass, and your ballast and lamps will last longer in the fixture too. It doesn't have to be much, even propping it up an inch will eleviate the problem of heat. If you can cut your own glass, habitat for humanity restore is just about free. Sorry I can't help with a retail store in Edmonton. Edited March 12, 2011 by Jayba

However at 4" above should not cause a problem unless the glass was stressed (internal flaw) Have any glass shop cut some thicker pieces 4-5 mm should do just fine. Kinges are the next problem with that. HTH J
