hackerberry
Hello, So I have a 55 gallon Bowfront display tank. Got small tetras, some amano and cherries and 5 Discus. I acquired the Discus from different LFS about 2 months ago. I've noticed that my Blue Diamond and Blue snakeskin are being close to each other most of the time. I found his morning that they spawned and attached the eggs on one of m plant's leaf. They are now guarding the eggs. Do I need to remove the pair with eggs or just let them be? Cheers, hb
Blue Ram
That depends on a couple of things. Do you want to raise fry? If so, the pair should be in their own 20 gal tank. Depending on your water parameters, the eggs may or may not hatch. They would need to be in soft water to hatch.
hackerberry
Thanks Barb. Raising Fry would be nice. I only use R/O water o n my display tank. I add Discus trace to replace lost minerals. I think it's too late to move them. I will once this is over. hb
Wingin' It
Don't discus fry eat the slime from off of the parents bodies?
hackerberry
Yes it does. Honestly, I'm not hoping for a success this time. At least I now know that I have a paired discus. cheers, hb
