creekbottom
I picked up some driftwood pieces from the LFS, soaked them for a while to get the tannins out and put them in my tank. NO worries... I brought home an Anubias nana, tied it on and plunked it back in the tank. Even better! Several days later I noticed that there is this semi clear jello growing ALL OVER the wood! What is it and how can I get rid of it? I took the wood out once and rinsed it off but that didn't get rid of it all, and also left a bunch behind in the tank floating around. Any help would be appreciated
Sprucegruve
this is fairly common,im 95% sure its algae either you can take it out of the tank and clean the wood.....but you dont need to. or you could take your siphon hose and suck some of it off of the wood. its not a big deal at all,it just looks a little unattractive. most bottom feeders(snails/plecos/shrimp) will eat it it you want the floaties out of your tank,do a small water change and make sure you suck up everything goodluck Edited February 2, 2012 by Sprucegruve
