creekbottom
I have a 20 tall and I need to get the chili rasboras out. Predictably, they hang out at the very bottom of a densely planted tank. I'm going to use the pop bottle fish trap I'm just not sure what to put in it. I have flake food, NLS pellets, algae wafers, Hikari shrimp cuisine, frozen mysis shrimp. I never see them eating cause they never come to the top. Ideas? madagascariensis
whatever smells the strongest(or is their favorite) would be my own choice. It would help increase the scent if the bait were to be ground up and put in a cloth bag or similar.
Jayba
I just use NLS or a food that is fragrant. Just remember to check the trap every once in a while. There is a limited supply of air in there. I have found many dead fish in traps I have forgotten about.
cullymoto
If you can get some freeze dried black worms you'll be in business. Fish go crazy for those things, and they are super high in protein.
Fisher
Would it be easier if there were fewer plants in the tank?
