Ted
I have some black bottle brush algae on some of my plants in my shrimp tank. I have been reading that I can use a syrnge of H2O2 aimed right at the bottle brush algae while the shrimp and fish are in the tank. Anyone try this? Thanks Theresa
cainechow
How big is your tank? I've done it in my 10g to combat cyano with amanos without issue. The trick is to keep the total dosage small and targeted. Check out the following: http://fish.bakerweb.biz/peroxide.html http://www.malawicichlidhomepage.com/aquainfo/algae_peroxide.html Always start with a lower dosage and give the peroxide time to do its thing and if it isn;t effective then consider moving up the dosage. I did the syringe thing, but with the needle still on to get even more targeted dosing.
ckmullin
Or glutaraldehyde aka metricide aka excel. there are NO ill effects to 99% of plants or stock when used properly. In the past i dosed the entire tank and it removed bba from every nook. When it turns red, it's dead. Edited May 6, 2013 by ckmullin
