Realevil1
Hi, new to the forum, but not new the hobby. Not too long ago i shut down my 65 gal salt tank and recently decided to start up a new tank. So I filled cleaned 65 gallon with freshwater, treated it and started up my Marineland 350. Its been running since January 1st. Tested my water on the weekend and ph and hardness were high, but I knew that would be the case, didnt write it down either. I used ATM Colony the other day and am going to do more testing tonight. will have pictures up soon
ckmullin
Hello and welcome to AA. Don't bother with stuff you can buy to seed a tank...leave the tank alone for 3-4 weeks and let it cycle naturally. Save the $ for other things like a nice planted tank! Realevil1
Last night I set up my air pump and stone as well as my refugium. Does anyone else run a refugium on their fresh tanks?
ckmullin
Nope. No need. Curious, what specific reason why do you want?
Realevil1
I constantly see tiny fish and inverts I like but would not want in my tank because they would be a meal for something else, I also may want to keep shrimp or snails in it. It comes in handy from time to time. Also it has a slow drip that works well to acclimate fish and inverts Edited January 7, 2014 by Realevil1

Realevil1
So the plan is I am aquascaping a Tapajos / Curua biotope from the Amazon. I have done more research on this one than I have ever done on any tank.

Realevil1
Also when is the best time to add tank decor (sand, wood, ect)?
jewels
I think you can add that stuff immediately. ( theoretically ) It will cycle as well. That will give you a chance to rearrange everything 6 times whilst you patiently wait for fish !!
