Lisbeth
Saying hello and whatnot. I'm working on setting up my first fully planted shrimp tank! Woo. Here's hoping that I don't accidentally kill everything.
ckmullin
Hello and welcome to AA. If you needed tips or advice on a planted tank give a shout!
Lisbeth
Thanks! Will do. I kind of ended up with a rather strong LED light (Aquasky 451) and a 10 gallon tank, so right now I'm mostly poking around for some good filter ideas. smmcgill
Hi Lisbeth, I'm new too, and in Calgary too. Just started a new 5 gallon Walstad (natural planted) shrimp tank. Keep me posted with how yours goes! -Stephanie
Lisbeth
Hi Lisbeth, I'm new too, and in Calgary too. Just started a new 5 gallon Walstad (natural planted) shrimp tank. Keep me posted with how yours goes! -Stephanie So far, so good! My tank is still stabilizing. I had a brief bout of hair algae due to excess iron and plants not being fully rooted to compete, but that all appears to be under control now. Percilus
Welcome. Good luck with the tank. I'm a noob as well so I won't be able to help you with anything but morale support haha

Lisbeth
I'm sure there is some sort of science to it, but I am so very much a noob. All I did was add some more fast growing plants to compete with the algae - namely some more mosses (triangle moss & Taiwan moss), as well as some floating frogbit.
