Madagascar Lace Questions

I have a madagascar lace plant that is doing great growing huge but it just shot up and bloomed a lovely flower. Now I did some reading and found some conflicting info. It stated that if I would have cut off the flower before it bloomed the plant would not go into a dormant state but to late for that. Now that it has bloomed what's my options? I have read that I can put it in a zip lock for 4-6 months would like clarification on that or leave the plant in the tank what would happen? Would it just die off. I know it takes like 4 years for the plant to actually pollinate from the flower form.

Thanks for any info you can provide
