rudy
Moved to the equipment section. What size are your overflows? We need more information. To give you an idea. I have a 270 gallon with a 106 gallon sump with 2 1.5 inch overflows. I run this with a mag 2400.
Naruto
I am new to this, first tank with overflow. How do you determine the size of the overflow? by volumne? Does anyone know where can I buy a big piece of filter sponge for sump? Edited November 21, 2005 by Naruto
ronrca
http://www.russellwatergardens.com/pipe.htm#flow%20rates Skroll to the bottom to check the flow rates for pipes or overflows. Remember, your flow rate will be whatever pipe size is the smallest in the water path. As an example, even if you have a 1" overflow but are reducing to 1/2" somewhere, the flow rate will be limited by the 1/2" pipe.
