Golfnut
Hi, My female pseudotropheus just released a bunch of fry, but now her head is loosing color. She actually looks like she is "balding". It is most visible on the head and starts to disolve on her back towards her tail. Any ideas what is going on? She eats fine... Thanks, Andrew
Vallisneria
Can you get a pic? Does it look like a scrape? Or a wound of some kind? Or just that the area is paler?
Pop Eye
I had that prob with one of my fish Try the salt bath method. If that doesnt work.. treat with Seachem's sulfathiazole. Works within a couple of days.. heres a website with what I think it is?? Columnaris Disease Also know as saddleback disease Here is a brief discription In the early stages of the disease, the lesions may simply appear as an area that is ‘less glossy’ than the surrounding scales. Advance lesions may be round or oval in shape, and can if untreated, progress to an open ulcer. In some fish the lesion may appear as a pale band, encircling the body of the fish – hence the name saddleback disease I noticed it on the head first (whitishy area) then it went down the back a bit.. and an ulcer developed on the side of the fish.
