nat
I seem to have lots of questions I have ordered Coralife 36 inch Power compact freshwater fixture (190Watt) for my 50 gal aquarium. Unfortunately after delivery I found out that I got a light that has one 10000K 96 watt bulb and one actinic bulb 96 watt. Question is: will the plants grow under such lighting or I should exchange the lamps to 6700K recommended for freshwater aquariums? (I want to be able to grow plants requiring high light). chloeclose
Heh... I did the exact same thing... bought the wrong one from Big Al's... Same size even... We had some sorta miscommunication... Can you say ALGAE??? Luckily for me they were nice enough to swap me a bulb!! Basically with that light your plants can only use half of it, so it's really not a good choice. HTH!!
Ryan
nics are realy bad for algea. I find that just plain old regular blue flouresent lights work. If it is a planted tank i would just use normal bulbs but for bringing fish's colours out i would recomend throwing a blue on there.
