Raven Posted November 3, 2004 Report Share Posted November 3, 2004 When i first bought Pengiuns bio wheel filter for my 29g it was because the regent filter i origanaly got with the aquirum package had stoped working. I never realy knew why it stopped but today i glanced at it and though, eh, why not try it again. I take apart my Aqua Clears once every 3 months to clean the impeler and shaft. I find this way they perform better for a longer period of time. rahim101 Posted November 8, 2004 Report Share Posted November 8, 2004 I have never used a penguin...on my aqua clears and rena...you just twist the motor off andthe impeller and shaft are exposed. then I just pull out the impeller and clean the shaft.
