I agree with both Rahim and RD, they are very aggressive fish, But it you do really like them then your other option could be to just keep one of the birchardi. That way he/she has nothing to really be aggressive over so that could be your other option if you really like them. Good luck. But just keep in mind that you can't stop your fish from breeding it's something fish are really good at doing and they seem to do it the most when we really don't want them too. Jenn

Sachelle is a very pretty kitty, I like multi colored cats they look so neat with the different patterns. I was just in Petcetera last night and they had this really cute lil boy kitten he was a siamese cross all his points where red (ears, face legs and tail.) With really blue eyes and and very white body just beautiful I sooooooo wanted to take him home but hubby said NO more cats DARN! he was such a little sweetheart. I am sure he'll find a home real fast. He so small and loveable, and playful Oh how I wanted to bring him home.

I can't believe someone that worked for Golds would do that, Maybe that's why he doesn't work at Golds anymore lol. And Yes $30 for a hybred is expensive I don't care if the fish is stunning I still wouldn't even pay $15 what's the point you can breed it and make your money back just pointless IMO. Jennifer

Hello Everyone Smokey I didn't get your message until today. But the other day I started treat the little guy with maracyn 2 and today he's really purked up and is swimming around alot. I know your not suppose to feed but he was getting so skinny because he didn't eat for at least 2-3weeks that i was scared that he'd die from starvation, so I put a few pieces of flake food in and as soon as he seen it he eat it. So he must be feeling better plus he looks soo much better today and it's only his second treatment of 4 days. SO I am very happy looks like my little fellows going to make it after all:) He really had a will to live. Thanks smokey for the good advice I am wondering if you ment maraycn 2 is bad for them as well? It seemed to work as for now. But let me know for next time thanks again Jenn

I thought maybe it might be pariasitic because I was looking if one of my desease books and it kinda looked similar to one of the discribtions in there. But I wasn't sure I will try to take a picture of him and post it. I do have Maracyn 2. I really wish the little guy wasn't sick, I really liked him he was so active in the take and such a little cutie:( I hope I can treat him with something that works and save him from doom before it's too late. Ok here is what is wrong with him. He has frayed finz and half a tail. His wiskers are almost gone. he lacks some of his spotting. Has faint blood spots and lines in his fin areas on back. Not eating, swimming around still but kinda funny sparatic and fast like. Has I believe excessive slim coughting. I have treated him with Malafix and that didn't work know I am treating him with some parisite stuff from Jungle something or something jungle can't remember name but wal-mart carries it cuz that's where I got it. PLEASE he's one of my fav's I don't want to loose him If someone could please help me that'd be great. Jenn

Accually those two tanks are not in operation at this moment we (boyfriend and I) went to Wal-Mart and got a really Nice 55gal tank,stand,top with lights all for $300.00 good deal I thought. And I went to the Petland in the north end. I couldn't believe it when I saw them selling some Hybrid peacocks for $30.00! Not only that but the fact that they called them some goofy name but below that name they put red shoulder x ? not sure what the name was I think the made up name was super red aulonocara what a joke. Poor people that are going to buy these that don't really know much about cichlids are going to think that they got a nice fish and probably going to contribute to the hybridizing (excuse my spelling) of these fish.

Mike That is a beautiful tank! I am setting up my mom's 72gal bowfront into a amazon tank. I am just wondering if you could tell me approx. how much did your largest peices of drift wood cost you? I am wondering if it would be cheaper for me to get it in calgary when I come up. Plus I was also wondering how hard are discus to keep and what are there requirements everyone tells me there harder then saltwater and well........ To be blunt you need a larger tank. I was haveing the same problem with some of my fry (different species) but as soon as i put them into a larger tank they started to grow quite fast. that many fish in a 20gal is to much. good at first when striped or just taken but you do need to move them now if you want them to grow faster.
