  1. Thank you so much guys for all your help and info once I get my live rock set up and stuff I'll post the pic progess.
  2. Hey Tom No I don't think your hijacking my thread lol I don't mind at all if you come on it to it. We'll have to come pair tanks once there going lol. Thanks Dunl for the info, and thanks again lukep77 your info is so informative as well. I was thinking of the burlin or Remora what do you think of these two skimmers I know there made for up to 250gals but I am just thinking ahead as i have a 120gal I just might change from fresh to salt one day lol. you just never know lol.
  3. no I didn't know half of that so I thank you so much for you long informative information. I am going up to Gold's probably next weekend. You didn't mention anything about a protien skimmer is it nessasary to have one right away? if so what kind Albert from golds was talking about a remora. He said the lighting could wait until I was ready for corals and such.
  4. I probably will end up doing that as I buy everything from there, just kinda came across that deal you know how it is when you see something and are like wow cool deal but then think about it afterwards lol well that is how i am anyway lol -roll- impluse buyer lol but yeah I get everything from golds.  but just wanted to know what other thoughts were and what they liked see what options I have and so forth
  5. Hey everyone I am setting up a 33gal SW and I was wondering if you can tell me IYO what is the nicest live rock you can get? and is this a good price for Walt Smith Fiji Live Rock 50 lb box 249.99 + $60.00 shipping CAN this is in canada so I don't have to pay duty and stuff. So in your own opinion guys I don't want to start anything but what is the best live rock out there. and is 50lbs to much for a 33gal?
  6. what size tank do you have? beautiful fish just stunning!
  7. Looks just like the three I got from Kyle there a beautiful fish I love them. Jenn
  8. Thanks guys I'll do my best to get the pics up and so forth. I am coming to calgary tomorrow to pick up a few things so we'll see what interesting things I can find. Jenn

  10. one these fish were not feeder two my tanks having been up and running for over a year with out problems and reg. waterchanges three these fish I bought were not just recently a new shipment as I know for a fact they had them for a while. And four my point was that it's dangerous to just stick fish from one tank into another without know where they came from, why they died, and what they were exposed to before going into your tank. I am not saying it's wrong or picking sides i am just saying ones needs to be very very careful. I have been dealing with cichlids for over 8yrs and never had a case of ick. That is why I was so mad.
  11. .. my point exactly. A good way to introduce disease into an otherwise healthy aqaurium. I understand some people buy fish at the LFS & simply float them for a small period & then release them to join their new tank mates in their 'show' tank, but IMO it's a disaster waiting to happen. Having read a few hundred posts by people who have done just that, then shortly after lost the better part of the fish in their 'show' tank (or all of them), I don't recommend this to anyone. Neil I have to agree on this with you, I have always just trusted that the fish i bought were all good and so I have always just flaoted and then released will this time it was the worst thing I could've ever done. Pick up some fish in calgary from an unsaid store and brought them home put them into my tank and awala the next day I had the worst case of ICK I have ever seen on cichlids I now exactly which fish it came from too, was I ever p*ssed :cuss: . I have trusted that store forever luckly I didnt end up with anything worse as ick is easy to cure but still it was the hassle of having to deal with it :grr: . I from now on will have a QT tank to put the new fish into. Jenn
  12. Yeah I know I'll deal with it then... thanks for the advice though rahim. Although I have to say that Kyles wild caughts don't seem all that aggressive and he has his electric yellows in with them so we'll see what happens. Some fish get aggressive and sometimes the ones that are suppose to be aggressive stay passive I have a good feeling about this guy Jenn
  13. Hey is that for sale I'd love to have a rarity like that what a beaut!!!! I put dibs for $150.00 on that fish!
  14. :smokey: I know I can't wait :smokey:
  15. Here is the F1 Polit I got from Kyle (African_Fever) last week he's just stunning little one. he's only about an 1.5-2in Sorry about the blurry picture. Jenn
  16. hey Tyler welcome back!! No these guys aren't from boxing day lol but those fishies are all good too. Nice looking Rudy Red Degrassi good to hear these little ones color fast. I can sell them sooner lol. Thanks for the compliments guys Jenn
  17. These two pictures are of two different fish of mine first one is of my Hap. Crimson Tide male at only 2in. I can't believe his color. My female crimson tide was holding the other day but do to lack of experiance she spit. Oh yeah she is the same size if not a little smaller. I think I am going to be keeping this little guy for sure.  And this next picture just totally caught me by surprize this little one is a Ruby red they one beside it is the exact same fish from the same mother, father and batch. This little one is only about 1/2in long if that and already getting Orange color through out it's body, this pic doesn't show it very well but his dorsal fin is BRIGHT orange. I couldn't believe it when I seen it. Deffently going to be a nice fish when grown I will post pictures on his progess as he grows. I can't a wait I have never seen a peacock color at such a young age wow. Jenn
  18. I kinda have fish spread out all over my house so I don't get crossbreeding those ruby reds are in a tank all of there own. I have 1M 3F. The Red Fin Borleyi is in they main tank but there is no fish in there that'll crossbreed with them. And that Hap. ? I don't breed him I have no females for him. That usysia I haven't bred yet but really want too He's just gorgeous. Thanks for the compliments
  19. Male Aul. Usysia Male Borleyi (this is the father of the little ones I have for sale:) Here is our Prize Ruby Red we'll be having some of his fry ready to go fairly soon only 20 of these little one availible Nice Victorian unknown sp? He's also for sale for show of if you know what he is you could add him to your breeding plans Jenn
  20. how much you going to sell them for? If your selling them one has my name on it lol, I'd love to get one of these guys. They are the ones with all the small thin white strips right? how big do they get? Jenn
  21. I am just wondering but on the top pictures the bigger fry hatchery how does the water flow through it but keep the fry into it? How did you make it? thanks jenn
  22. yep I agree with rahim I had a fish poke his eye right out it was hanging out of the eye socket. Took him out of the tank treated him by him self as he seemed stressed out by the other fish. Treated him with melafix and aquarium salt I doubled the dose of aquarium salt (reg. 1 tbls 4 ea. 10gal.) I put 2tbls ea.10gal. treated him for 5-6 days and now he doesn't have an eye on the right side but he is very healthy and happy otherwise and easy to catch when need be lol. Don't worry they get over not having a eye on one side. Jenn
  23. Hey that fish is cool! But man oh man that is wrong lol. Some of those fish are just pure uglyness so ok and some pretty cool. I guess I am very lucky, for the last 5years in all my tanks I have not had an electric blue cross with my peacocks, sorry to hear about those of you who have. Ummm guess you learn something new everyday. Jenn
  24. she's not for sale Rahim lol (brevis) I am not sure on polit if there is anymore but there $20ea I do know that.
  25. hummm maby cuz I have them all in a 260gal aquarium it doesn't happen don't know. But mine have never crossed. Mine dont have spots on them electric blues don't have those spots and if ABwildroses does I'd say there a cross breed.
